Flowga: Hong Kong’s new infrared yoga studio

Flowga Hong Kong Studio

Have you ever wondered why there’s no Bikram yoga in Hong Kong? Even before the salacious scandal broke around Bikram Choudry, founder of the wildly successful hot yoga practice, hot yoga was a rare find at most Hong Kong yoga studios besides Pure (and even when it was ‘hot’, it was never hot enough!).

Hot yoga isn’t for everyone (and some yogis even decry it as real yoga) but you can’t deny that it’s a great way to increase your flexibility while getting a good sweat.

As hot yoga fans ourselves, we were happy to hear that Hong Kong will soon have a brand new hot yoga studio called Flowga. What’s even better is that it’s not just any kind of hot yogaβ€”it’s infrared hot yoga with tunes and candlelight!

Infrared panels heat up the body directly instead of the air around you, which means that you can actually experience a more intense sweat at a lower temperature (so, no need to escape the hot yoga room midway through class anymore)!

The benefits of infrared heat include detoxification, boosting the immune system, better circulation, and reduced tension and stress through relaxation. When you couple that with the mindfulness and added flexibility of yoga, the benefits quickly multiply.

Flowga Hong Kong was set to open in April 2020 in Lan Kwai Fong, but the studio is currently on hold due to the Covid-19 crisis. We can’t wait to see the studio in person when they open and try out their classes!
